Parkland College Students Featured on "This American Life"

In an episode about people trying to exorcize their inner demons, the program tells the story of Sam Slaven, an Iraq War veteran who came home from the War plagued by feelings of hate and anger toward Muslims. Producer Lisa Pollak looks at the unusual action Sam took to change himself as a student at Parkland College, and the Muslim students who helped him do it.

Two WILL-TV programs, both part of the station’s Central Illinois World War II Stories project, have been nominated for regional 2008 Emmy Awards by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-America Chapter.
