Poll: Fog or Pollution

This is the view we woke up to this morning when we looked out the window of our hotel room.  But is it fog or smog?

We want to know what you think, so post your guess in the comment section below, and later today I’ll post an update with the answer.

Fog.  No, pollution.  Pollution.  No, fog!

Knowing your assignment topic, I’m pushed to say pollution, so pollution’s my final answer.

::fingers crossed::

smog without a doubt.  Smog encompasses fog as the word would lead one to believe.  Fog and smoke = smog

Sam,
Having returned from China on March 29th (Beijing March 9 to 13), I’d say that this is smog.  I understand that Beijing is “rain hungry”, hence, how can it be fog???  If it’s fog, perhaps Ed Keiser can explain.

Enjoy your experiences and keep these excellent entries coming!!!

Definitely smog. One of the unfortunate results of such rapid modernization.

Im not sure, I think its a wierd combination of both pollution and fog. I’ve been living in China for at least one year and I’ve seen all the station and kind of weather here and no matter what the conditions are there is always and endless cloud covering everithing. Maybe its something that happens only in the cities, Im not sure, the thing is I have barely seen a clear day with intense blue sky, sun shine here in China.
