Gould and Bernstein agree to disagree

Gould wanted slow; Bernstein wanted fast. At a famous concert in 1962, Glenn Gould wanted to play Brahms' First Piano Concerto slowly, and Leonard Bernstein, the conductor, wanted it to go at a faster pace. Before the music began, Bernstein gave a short speech in which he expressed his disagreement with Gould and his willingness to go along with Gould.
