It is said that the standards for choral performance in the U.S. were significantly raised by the career of the conductor Robert Shaw. Shaw shared honors in recordings with Arturo Toscanini, and with the Robert Shaw Chorale, he was a best-selling star of the RCA Victor label. As an orchestral conductor, Shaw ended his career with a decade’s long tenure with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. On Saturday at 11, we will hear highlights from Shaw's career.
