The Evening Concert

Jennifer Gunn is the piccolo soloist in Vivaldi’s RV 444 “Piccolo Concerto” and Benshoof’s “Concerto for Piccolo”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony” and Gershwin’s “An American in Paris”.

In a program from the archives, Vladimir Horowitz is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “3rd Piano Concerto” with guest conductor Eugene Ormandy. Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Collectors’ Corner with Henry Fogel”.  On tonight’s program you’ll hear a compilation of broadcasts recorded between 1955 and 1966 of tenor Fritz Wunderlich singing songs by Brahms, Schubert, Beethoven, Wolff, Strauss and Schumann.
