The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  From the archives, it’s the Philharmonic’s “9/11 Anniversary Broadcast”. The New York Choral Artists are featured in Brahms’ “A German Requiem” and John Adams’ “On the Transmigration of Souls”. Kurt Masur conducted the Brahms’, and Lorin Maazel conducted the Adams’.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ “A German Requiem” from New York, Verdi’s “Requiem” from Chicago, Mahler’s “7th Symphony” from San Francisco, Mahler’s “1st Symphony” from Carnegie Hall, then Sunday music of George Crumb from Lincoln Center and music by Bach on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mozart’s K.388 Wind Serenade in C Minor” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear Ravel’s “Piano Trio in A Minor” on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Carnegie Hall Live”. Marc-Andre Hamelin is the soloist in Liszt’s “1st Piano Concerto” with the Budapest Festival Orchestra led by Ivan Fischer. Also on the program Weber’s “Overture to Der Freischutz” and Prokofiev’s “5th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. James Ehnes is the soloist in Bruch’s “1st Violin Concerto”. Marek Janowski guest conducts.  Also on the program Wagner’s “Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde” and the “Overture and Venusberg Music from Tannhauser”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Bertrand Chamayou is the soloist in Mozart’s “23rd Piano Concerto”. Herbert Blomstedt  guest conducts.   Also on the program Brahms’ “2nd Symphony”.
