Friday it’s "Prairie Performances with Roger Cooper".

Join Vincent Trauth for two hours of American patriotic favorites, like Sousa marches, John Williams’ “Summon the Heroes” and an “Armed Forces Medley” as well as other classical music "fireworks" like Strauss' "Explosions Polka" and Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture", all from the Friends of WILL Recordings Library.
Tonight at 7:00 on The Evening Concert violinist Ida Kavafian, violist Steven Tenenbom and cellist Peter Wiley play Beethoven’s “3rd Opus 9 String Trio” in Santa Fe. At 8:00 pianist Joyce Yang plays Lowell Liebermann’s “Gargoyles” on from Wolf Trap.
Tonight at 7:00 on The Evening Concert Leonidas Kavakos is the violin soloist in Prokofiev’s “2nd Violin Concerto” with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Lionel Bringuier (brin gee-AY) conducts. Also on the program, Dukas’ “Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, Kodaly’s “Dances of Galanta” and Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite”.
