Haydn’s oratorio “The Creation”

Wednesday night May 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. The Orchestra is joined by the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and vocal soloists Rachele Gilmore, Werner Gura, and Alexander Elliot in Haydn’s oratorio “The Creation”. Music Director Manfred Honeck conducts.

Monday night May 23 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. The Philharmonic is joined by the New York Choral Artists, the Dessof Symphonic Choir and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus plus eight vocal soloists in Mahler’s “8th Symphony”.

Thursday night May 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Former Artistic Advisor Stanislaw Skrowaczeski leads the group in Bruckner’s “8th Symphony”.  Also on the program Skrowaczeski’s arrangement of Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor”.

Tuesday night May 17 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  Alexander Gavrylyuk is the soloist in Prokofiev’s “1st Piano Concerto”. James Conlon guest conducts. Also on the program Schubert’s “3rd Symphony” and Shostakovich’s “Chamber Symphony”.

Monday night May 16 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. The Philharmonic is joined by the Concert Chorale of New York and vocal soloists Ying Fang and Mattias Goerne in Brahms’ “A German Requiem”. Music Director Jaap van Zweden conducts.
