Sunday night May 1st the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 starts at 6:00 with Schubert’s “Octet” from Santa Fe, followed at 7:00 by Beethoven’s “1st Piano Trio” from Lincoln Center and at 8:00 by “Fiesta!”.
Thursday night April 28th at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Music Director Ken-David Masur leads the group in “Classic era” symphonies by Mozart, C.P.E. Bach, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Franz Xaver Richter and Johann Stamitz. Also on the program, Beethoven’s “1st Symphony”.
Wednesday night April 27th at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Behzod Abduraimov is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Markus Stenz guest conducts. Also on the program Debussy’s “Sunken Cathedral” and Scriabin’s “Poem of Ecstasy”.
Tuesday night April 25th at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Conductor Kirill Karabits and pianist Sunwook Kim make their CSO debuts. You’ll hear Mendelssohn’s “1st Piano Concerto” and the “Capriccio brilliant”. Also on the program Lutoslawski’s “Concerto for Orchestra”.
Monday night April 25th at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Music Director Jaap van Zweden leads the Philharmonic in Beethoven’s “7th Symphony”, Debussy’s “La Mer”, and Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”.
This week, Monday April 25th through Thursday April 28th and Sunday May 1st on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “7th Symphony” from New York, Mendelssohn’s “1st Piano Concerto” from Chicago, Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Piano Concerto” from Pittsburgh, classic era symphonies from Milwaukee, and Sunday Schubert’s “Octet” from Santa Fe, Beethoven’s “1st Piano Trio” from Lincoln Center and Renaissance music from Spain, Portugal and the Americas on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.
Sunday night April 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ Op. 34 “Piano Quintet in F Minor” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear romantic music from Brazil and Mexico on “Fiesta!” With Elbio Barilari”.
Thursday night April 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the third program in a new series from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Composer Lukas Foss conducts his music: the “Ode for Orchestra”, “With Music Strong” and “Song of Songs” featuring soprano Carolann Page.
Wednesday night April 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Beatrice Rana is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “3rd Piano Concerto”. Pietari Inkinen guest conducts. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “4th Symphony” and Sibelius’ “Pohjola’s Daughter”.
Tuesday night April 19 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Jakob Hrusa guest conducts Dvorak’s “6th Symphony” and Coleridge-Taylor’s Op. 33 “Ballade”. Also on the program Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915”.
