The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  Alexander Gavrylyuk is the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto”. Thomas Søndergård guest conducts. Also on the program music from Sibelius’ “King Christian II” and Rachmaninoff’s “1st Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear two works on the program: Mahler’s “1st Symphony” conducted by Zubin Mehta, and Mahler’s “4th Symphony” conducted by Leonard Bernstein and featuring Reri Grist.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mahler’s “4th Symphony” from New York, Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto” from Chicago, Liszt’s “1st Piano Concerto” from Carnegie Hall, Brahms’ “2nd Piano Concerto” from Los Angeles, then Sunday chamber music from Lincoln Center and Latin American music for saxophone on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” is pre-empted to bring you “Hanukkah Lights 2021”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear orchestral music performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Carolin Widmann is the soloist in Kurt Weill’s “Violin Concerto”. Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts.  Also on the program Hindemith’s “Rag Time” and his Symphony “Mathis der Maler”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s Carnegie Hall Live. Pierre-Laurent Aimard is the soloist in Ravel’s “Piano Concerto in G Major” with the Munich Philharmonic.   Also on the program Ravel’s “Daphnis and Chloe, Berlioz’ “The Death of Cleopatra” and Debussy’s “Images” for piano.
