The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Bach’s “2nd Brandenburg Concerto” and Vivaldi’s RV 93 “Lute Concerto” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear recently composed Latin American classical music on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic.  Seong-Jin Cho is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel conducts.  Also on the program Thomas Adès’ “Dawn” and the world premiere of his “Inferno”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s Carnegie Hall Live. For 1,000 years, Venice was a world capital of trade and culture. Jordi Savall and his period instrument groups perform the music that moved through Venice in that time span. That’s “The Millenarian Venice: Gateway to the East” on Carnegie Hall Live.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You‘ll hear Mozart’s “Requiem” in an archival recording from 2018 with Music Director Riccardo Muti conducting. Also on the program Cherubini’s “ Song on the Death of Joseph Haydn”.   

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Joyce Yang is the piano soloist in Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain”. Also on the program Falla’s “The Three-Cornered Hat” and selections from Massenet’s “Le Cid”.
