The Evening Concert

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain” from New York, Mozart’s “Requiem” from Chicago, Jordi Savall’s Hesperion XXI from Carnegie Hall, Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Piano Concerto” from Los Angeles, then Sunday Bach’s “2nd Brandenburg Concerto” from Lincoln Center and 21st Century Latin American music on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “5th String Quartet” and “Brahms’ 3rd Violin Sonata” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Latin American chamber music on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. You’ll hear Mahler’s “1st Symphony” and the “Adagietto” from his 5th Symphony.  Music Director Gustavo Dudamel conducts.  Also on the program Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” with soloist Julia Bullock.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s Carnegie Hall Live. You’ll hear Berlioz’s “Harold in Italy” as performed by the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique led by Sir John Eliot Gardiner.  Also on the program Rossini’s “William Tell Overture” and works by Hugo Wolf.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Nicholas Angelich is the soloist in Beethoven’s “Emperor Piano Concerto”. James Feddeck guest conducts.  Also on the program Dvorak’s “7th Symphony”.   

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear four French pieces: Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun”, Ravel’s “Noble and Sentimental Waltzes”, and two by Berlioz: “Summer Nights” and “Harold in Italy”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto” is the featured work. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel conducts.  Also on the program Andrew Norman’s “Sustain” and Esa-Pekka Salonen’s “L.A. Variations”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s Carnegie Hall Live. You’ll hear the Vienna Philharmonic led by Valery Gergiev play Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”. Also on the program Leif Ove Andsnes plays Ballades by Chopin and Sir Andras Schiff plays a Fantasia by Mendelssohn.
