The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt leads the group in Brahms “4th Symphony” and Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony”. Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings” is also on the program.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s another Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Schwetzingen. Clarinetist Sabine Meyer is featured in Schubert’s D. 803 Octet”. Also on the program the Modigliani Quartet plays Stravinsky’s “Three Pieces for String Quartet”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. It’s a program from their archives featuring guest conductor Edo de Waart leading the CSO in Beethoven’s “Eroica Symphony” and the “Leonore Overture No. 3”. 

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Dorothea Roschmann and Ian Bostridge are the vocal soloists in Mahler’s “Des Knaben Wunderhorn”.  Sir Colin Davis conducts.  Also on the program Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony”.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mahler’s “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” from New York, Beethoven’s “3rd Symphony’ from Chicago, Schubert’s D. number 803 “Octet” from Schwetzingen, Brahms’ “4th Symphony” from San Francisco, then Sunday Brahms’ “1st String Sextet” from Lincoln Center and chamber music by Vivaldi from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear electronic chamber music by Stockhausen on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Fritz Kreisler’s “A minor String Quartet” on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt leads the group in Mozart’s “36th Symphony, the Linz”, Brahms “3rd Symphony in F Major”, and Berwald’s “1st Symphony in G Minor, the Sinfonie serieuse”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s another Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Schwetzingen. The Belcea Quartet plays Beethoven’s “Grosse Fuge” String Quartet and movements from works for string quartet by Shostakovich, Barber, Bartok, Webern, Szymanowski and Kurtag.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Paul Jacobs is the soloist in “Saint-Saens’ “Organ” Symphony. Emmanuel Krivine guest conducts. Also on the program Schumann’s “WoO D Minor Violin Concerto” with soloist Isabelle Faust.
