Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Stuttgart. Teodor Currentzis leads the SW German Radio Symphony Orchestra in Richard Strauss’ “Death and Transfiguration” and Mahler’s “1st Symphony in D Major”.  Also on the program music by Scelsi, Biber and Dowland.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Weber’s “Overture to ‘Der Freischütz’”, Beethoven’s “7th Symphony in A Major” and Brahms’ “2nd Symphony in D Major”.  Bernard Haitink guest conducts.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Lisa Batiashvili is the soloist in Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Brahms’ “2nd Symphony” and Magnus Lindberg’s “Arena”.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” from New York, Beethoven’s “7th Symphony” from Chicago, Mahler’s “1st Symphony” from Stuttgart, Ravel’s “La Valse” from San Francisco, then Sunday chamber music by Dvorak from Lincoln Center and by Weinberg from Santa Fe.

Robin Ticciati leads the German Symphony-Orchestra Berlin in Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis”. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “1st Violin Concerto” with soloist Lisa Batiashvili.
