Evening Concert

Monteverdi’s “Vespers” on “Carnegie Hall Live” on tonight’s “Evening Concert”

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “Carnegie Hall Live”.  You’ll hear Monteverdi’s “Vespers of 1610” as performed by the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists led by Sir John Eliot Gardiner. The work combines the grandest of public music from the height of the Renaissance with the most intimate solo songs. The chorus is divided at times into from four to ten different voice parts, and sometimes into a double choir. The orchestral requirements keep shifting. It is a work for the "the ages".
