Evening Concert

Simone Young conducts the DSO [Dallas, not Danville, sorry] on the Evening Concert

 

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Holst’s “The Planets”. Simone Young guest conducts the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in what D Magazine described as a “vigorous, (and) powerful performance”. Also on the program Philip Glass’ “Violin Concerto”.

Simone Young was Artistic Director of the Hamburg State Opera and Music Director of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra from August 2005 to the end of the 2014/2015 season, where she conducted a wide range of operas including works by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, Strauss, Hindemith, Britten and Henze in new productions and repertoire performances, among them world premieres and several German premieres.
