Carmina Burana on the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra broadcast

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the second of 13 programs from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Manfred Honeck conducts.  On the program, Beethoven’s “Overture to ‘Fidelio’” and Carl Orff’s Cantata “Carmina Burana”, featuring the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh.

Muti Conducts the CSO in Beethoven’s 5th Symphony

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Music Director Riccardo Muti leads the group in Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. Also on the program: Prokofiev’s orchestral poem “The Meeting of the Volga and the Don” and Shostakovich’s “Suite on Verses of Michelangelo”.

Milwaukee Symphony, CSO, Pittsburgh Symphony, New York Philharmonic on “The Evening Concert”

This week on “The Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear the first programs in a number of new series: the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in Mondays, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on Wednesdays, and the Gilmore International Keyboards Festival on Sunday. The CSO and “The New York Philharmonic This Week” continue on their usual nights of Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
