Gala First Day Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM: it’s “The Evening Concert’.  We’ll have the “Gala First Day Concert” from Boston with Martin Pearlman leading Boston Baroque in the music of Bach, in particular the Brandenburg Concertos numbers 3 and 4 and the “Coffee Cantata”.

Tonight starting at 8:00 PM and going until 4:00 in the morning (!) it’s NPR’s “Toast of the Nation”. You’ll want to tune in at 10:00 for The Wynton Marsalis Septet LIVE from Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, New York. Other performers include Paquito D’Rivera from Chicago and Bobby McFerrin from the Monterey Jazz Festival (!)

Tonight at 7:00 on the "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM, it's the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra led by its Music Director Edo de Waart in Brahms’ 1st and 4th Symphonies as “bookends” to the Prokofiev 2nd Violin Concerto with soloist Ilana Setapen.

Tonight on WILL-FM's "Evening Concert"..... starting at 7:00 it's "Christmas with the Morehouse and Spelman Glee Clubs", presenting carols and spirituals like 'Go Tell it on the Mountain' and 'Behold the Star'. At 8:00 it's "A Season's Griot, 2013": this year's program will celebrate "Family" with special guests Elisha Minter, Beverly Burnette, and others.

Handel’s “Messiah” from Boston (Handel & Haydn Society Orchestra)

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM: it's "The Evening Concert'. It's Handel's complete oratorio "Messiah" from the Handel & Haydn Society Period-Instrument-Orchestra-and-Chorus plus vocal soloists Karina Gauvin (gaw-VAN), Daniel Taylor, James Gilchrist, and Sumner Thompson, led by Music Director Harry Christophers, recorded in the acoustic splendor of Boston's Symphony Hall.

Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM it's "The Evening Concert". The 30-voice King's College Choir performs the legendary "Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" service of Biblical readings and music. The program was recorded just hours ago in Cambridge, England. On the program hymns and carols like 'Joy to the World', 'I Saw Three Ships' and others.

“St. Olaf Christmas Festival” on “The Evening Concert” on WILL-FM

Tonight at 7:00 on the "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM, it's the "St. Olaf Christmas Festival". On the program: carols, hymns, and excerpts from works like Aaron Jay Kernis' Musica Celestis, and Vaughan Williams' Antiphon from the 'Five Mystical Songs' performed by the more than 500 student musicians from five choirs and the St. Olaf Orchestra.
