Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL FM-90.9, Chris Martin is the soloist in the World Premiere of Christopher Rouse’s “Heimdahls’ Trumpet for Trumpet and Orchestra”. Jaap Van Zweden guest conducts. Also on the program Shostakovish's "Festive Overture" and "Chamber Symphony" and Tchaikovsky’s “Manfred Symphony”.

Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto” on “Beethovenfest in Bonn” on the Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert it’s the first of the “Beethovenfest in Bonn” programs from the Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. Jorg Widmann is the soloist in Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto” with the German Chamber Philharmonie Bremen led by Kent Nagano. Also on the program Widmann’s  own “Armonica for Orchestra” and Brahms 4th Symphony.

Beethovenfest in Bonn; Rouse World Premiere; Buniatishvili plays Rachmaninoff’s 2nd

This week [Monday, September 8, - Sunday, September 14, 2014] on the Evening Concert we start with the first of the “Beethovenfest in Bonn” programs from the Deustche Welle Festival Concerts, then it’s a World Premiere by Christopher Rouse from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Wednesday Khatia Buniatishvili plays Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano  Concerto with the San Francisco Symphony; Thursday it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” and Sunday, Chamber Music from Lincoln Center, plus The Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
