Borodin Quartet plays Beethoven’s and Shostakovich’s String Quartet Number 12 on the Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the next “Beethovenfest in Bonn” program from Deutsche Welle Radio. The Borodin Quartet is featured in string quartets by Beethoven and Shostakovich. The program centers on a back-to-back performance of the String Quartets Number 12, first Beethoven’s, then Shostakovich’s with commentary comparing and contrasting the two works.

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM it’s our simulcast coverage of the Illinois 13th District Congressional Debate between candidates Ann Callis and Rodney Davis.  At 8:00 it’s a shortened “Evening Concert” with “An Argentine in Hollywood” on Fiesta! These programs differ from the listings in Patterns magazine and they pre-empt tonight’s “New York Philharmonic This Week”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the next “Beethovenfest in Bonn” programs from the Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts.  Boris Berezovsky is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto with the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra, Dmitri Liss, conductor. Also on the program Beethoven’s “Feast Day Overture and Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony, the Pathetique.
