Certainly one part has been achieved, but there are questions about the other. Our guest will be the European Union Ambassador to the U.S., Joao Vale de Almeida. We’ll talk about the current economic crisis in the EU, the state of EU-U.S. relations, and get his thoughts on the long-term future of the EU project.

In March, voters in Russia will elect a new president, and it is widely expected that the winner will be former president and current Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Although his victory seems assured, he is not as popular as he once was, and his party suffered serious losses in Parliamentary elections held in December. Our guest will be Andrew Kuchins from the Center for Strategic and international Studies in Washington D.C. He will talk with us about Russian politics and U.S.-Russian relations.
