We’ll be doing our regular “talk to the family doctor” program with Dr. Jeff Swearingen, family medicine physician from Carle in Urbana. Science writer Florence Williams says that to have breasts is to be human. We are the only animals who have breasts continuously from puberty on. And, she says, they are in need of protection. Because they store fat, they also store toxic, fat-loving chemicals. She says they are indicators for the changing health of people. We’ll explore the origins and meaning of this distinctly human feature as we talk with Florence Williams about her new book "Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History."

We’ll explore the causes and treatments available for hearing loss, as we talk with Melissa Rodriguez. She is board certified in hearing instrument sciences and is the founder of Hear On Earth Haring Care Center in El Paso, Texas. She will talk about the features of the modern hearing aid, and offer advice on encouraging our loved ones to seek help for their hearing loss.
