We'll talk with Tanya Tull, president and CEO of Partnering for Change, an activist who has played a significant role in developing innovative solutions to help ease poverty and homelessness among families. She says that the most common response to family homelessness is some kind of temporary housing. The problem is, when that runs out, people are still homeless. Her approach, one that has now become the model for programs across the country, starts with getting families into permanent housing.

On any given night some 750,000 men, women and children are homeless in the U.S. In Illinois, it’s estimated that more than 14,000 people experience homelessness every night. We’ll look at homelessness in east central Illinois and talk about what local agencies are doing to address the problem.
