Barack Obama is one of seven candidates running in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate from Illinois. Since 1996 he has represented the 13th District in the Illinois Senate, where he has gained bipartisan support for reform of welfare, health care, and ethics laws. He currently serves as chairman of the Illinois Senate's Health and Human Services Committee. 

In this interview Sen. Obama discusses his advocacy for universal health care, addressing poverty and supporting the middle class, and his opposition to the Iraq war.
