Tim Nugent on the Beginning of DRES

Tim Nugent speaking:
We were given three tar-paper shacks, in what was called Stadium Terrace. They were old army barracks, no insulation, tar-paper siding, no insulation in the floors or ceilings. They had space heaters. If you were within ten foot of the space heater you were too warm, if you were eleven foot away, you were freezing… That was our beginning on this campus.

Tim Nugent describes the beginning of the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services at the University of Illinois.
