Desafinado; Todd Cranson of the Vintage Brass Band

Desafinado is a six-piece band based in Champaign-Urbana that plays samba, bossa nova and popular Brazilian music. The band is performing in Urbana on Saturday and will play some tunes for us live in our studio on the Thursday edition of "Live and Local." We'll also visit with Todd Cranson about a performance Saturday in Springfield by the Vintage Brass Band. NOTE: With apologies, technical issues prevented us from archiving the second half of the program with the Vintage Brass Band, but we do have a couple of bonus tracks of Desafinado, playing live in our studio. Enjoy!

Beginning this weekend, Rantoul Theatre Group will present a staged version of this classic, and we'll have several of the actors read scenes from the show on the Tuesday edition of "Live and Local."
