The CHORALE Guest Conductor Craig Jessop, plus Leah Crews

The CHORALE, based in Champaign-Urbana, will give its annual Young Artist Scholarship Concert Sunday, with guest conductor Craig Jessop, formerly of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Dr. Jessop will join me on the Wednesday edition of “Live and Local.” I’ll also talk with Leah Crews, who will lead a very young chorus called The Singing Redbirds in Normal Thursday night.

Flutist and dancer Zara Lawler and choreographer C. Neil Parsons

Flutist and dancer Zara Lawler and choreographer C. Neil Parsons have created a show called "The Flute on its Feet," currently on a Midwest tour. They'll be in Charleston Monday and Tuesday, and they'll join us on the Monday edition of "Live and Local." We'll also have a live preview of the world premiere of Stephen Taylor's opera Paradises Lost at the University of Illinois.

The Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana, plus the Vermilion Festival Chorus and Danville Light Opera

The Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana had their annual Young Baroque Artists Competition recently, and the Winners Showcase concert happens this Sunday in Champaign. Two of the winners will play for us live on the Friday edition of "Live and Local." And we'll preview shows from two groups in Danville: the Vermilion Festival Chorus and Danville Light Opera.
