Jennifer Williams Brown on the 17th-century composer Francesco Cavalli

According to Jennifer Williams Brown, 17th-century composer Francesco Cavalli helped to establish opera as a cultural phenomenon. Cavalli's opera La Calisto plays at the University of Illinois this week, and Prof. Brown will be my guest on the Thursday edition of "Live and Local." We'll also hear a live preview of Saturday's concert in Urbana from the Robert E. Brown Center for World Music.
