William Butler Yeats expert Prof. William Brooks

The Irish poet William Butler Yeats was preoccupied with establishing the proper declamation of his poems and practiced chanting his works with instrumental accompaniment. On Wednesday, Prof. William Brooks of England's University of York will give a MillerCOMM lecture entitled "Everlasting Voices: Yeats, Chanting and Music." Prof. Brooks and two performer colleagues will join me on the Monday edition of Live and Local.
