Danville now has two emergency shelters for women and children. The Danville Rescue Mission held an open house for its new Dayspring shelter on Sunday, January 22nd, and began accepting guests on Monday the 23rd.

Illinois Senate leaders plan to vote on a compromise budget deal next week. Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago and Minority Leader Christine Radogno of Lemont told the Chicago Tribune editorial board that they will put the proposal to a floor vote Wednesday.
