Obama Will Put Off Executive Actions On Immigration

Responding to fellow Democrats' concerns in a tight election season, President Obama will delay acting on his own on immigration issues until after November's midterm vote, the White House says.

American Reportedly Fighting Alongside Extremists In Syria Dies

A U.S. citizen reportedly fighting alongside a terrorist group in Syria has died.  The National Security Council has not said whether or not Douglas McAuthur McCain was fighting for the group that calls itself the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL.)

President Obama Says Militants Who Beheaded American Are ‘Cowardly’

The extremist group that carried out the beheading of U.S. journalist James Foley engages in "cowardly acts of violence" and "has no place in the 21st century," President Obama said Wednesday, referring to the videotaped execution carried out by militants with the Islamic State.

Reporting On Ebola: An Abandoned 10-Year-Old, A Nervous Neighborhood

Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, is under nighttime curfew as that country struggles to contain the Ebola epidemic. On Wednesday, an entire neighborhood in Monrovia was quarantined, sealed off from the rest of the city by the government.

Video Purports To Show Beheading Of U.S. Journalist By Militants

Extremist group the Islamic State claims to have executed American journalist James Foley, who was abducted in Syria in 2012. The FBI is evaluating a video that was posted online Tuesday, purporting to show Foley's beheading.
