Maryland Outlasts Illini Men 62-56

Maryland coach Mark Turgeon didn't let history repeat itself when his team defeated Illinois 62-56 on Saturday. The Terrapins were No. 11 when they came to Champaign two years ago and were upset 64-57 by an Illinois team that did not make the NCAA Tournament.

Youth Movement Propels Illini Men Past Michigan

Newcomers Kipper Nichols and Te'Jon Lucas led the way as the Illini men plowed past MIchigan 85-69 last night in Champaign. Illinois evened its Big Ten record at 2-2, while improving to 12-5 overall. Michigan drops to 11-6, 1-3 in the conference.

The Illinois women's basketball team topped Rutgers 78-41 Saturday at State Farm Center in Champaign, the Illini's second largest ever margin of victory in a Big Ten game. Freshman Petra Holešínská led Illinois with a career-high 21 points.

Slow Start Dooms Illini In Loss At Indiana

The Indiana Hoosiers calmed their fans by sending them into a frenzy. James Blackmon Jr. scored 25 points, Thomas Bryant added 20, and No. 25 Indiana snapped a three-game losing streak with a 96-80 victory over Illinois on Saturday night.

Illini Men Bounce Back With Win Over Ohio State

Illinois is 1-1 in the Big Ten after a 75-70 win over Ohio State at State Farm Center in Champaign.  The Illini lost a 15-point lead before recovering to get the win on New Year's Day.

Maryland Never Trails In Big Ten Opening Rout Of Illinois

Melo Trimble scored 20 points and Jaylen Brantley added 13 as Maryland routed Illinois 84-59 on Tuesday in the Big Ten opener for both teams. Malcolm Hill had 21 points for the Illini (10-4), who saw their six-game winning streak come to an end.

Malcolm Hill Takes Over To Propel Illini Past IUPUI

The Illini men got all they could handle from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis Tuesday night in Champaign.

Illinois won with a score of 85-77. But it was a two-possession game and the Jaguars had the ball with less than a minute to go before a Jaylon Tate steal sealed the win.
