14 Straight Wins for Illini Baseball Team

The win streak has allowed Illinois to crack the top ten in the rankings for the first time ever, including a No. 8 rankings from a USA Today Coaches poll. UI also is ranked No. 9 by D1Baseball.com, Perfect Game and Baseball America.

McFadden Wins Boston For Third Straight Year

University of Illinois graduate Tatyana McFadden has won her third straight women's wheelchair race at the Boston Marathon.   This comes after marathon 'grand slam' victories the last two years in Boston, Chicago, New York, and London.

IHSA Tourney To Remain In Peoria

The vote by the IHSA Board was unanimous, keeping the boys' basketball finals in Peoria's Carver Arena from 2016-2020.  Tourism officials and local goverments made a bid to bring the tournament back to Champaign-Urbana, which hosted the games for 76 years.

Illini & ISU Redbirds Head to NIT

The Fighting Illini begin play in the NIT Tuesday evening, with a game against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, while the ISU Redbirds hosts Wisconsin-Green Bay Wednesday evening in NIT play.

Illini Fall To Michigan in Big Ten Opener, 73-55

In what may have been Illinois' worst game of the season, they managed to shoot only 37.3 percent.  Malcolm Hill led the team with 13 points.  The Illini now await word of a possible NIT bid on Sunday.
