Obama Library To Be Built In Chicago

President Barack Obama has chosen his hometown of Chicago to host his future presidential library.   That's according to a source with direct knowledge of the decision who requested anonymity because Obama's decision hasn't been announced.

The mayor of Danville is still hoping to cash in on bringing a casino to the city.  Scott Eisenhauer says he's talked about gaming expansion with Governor Bruce Rauner.

Former Illinois Governor Dan Walker Dies

The son of the one-term governor confirms that Walker died overnight Wednesday in California.  He was 92. In 1987, he was sentenced to federal prison time for fraudulently obtaining more than $1 million in loans.  He's survived by his wife and seven children.

Champaign-Urbana Nepali Community Organizes To Help Earthquake Victims

On Saturday a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal destroying buildings and infrastructure. Atul Nepal and Santosh Koirala are members of the Nepali Student Association on the University of Illinois’ Urbana campus. He has been speaking with family in Nepal. They are telling them that relief work is underway and the aftershocks are dying down, but that the damage in Kathmandu Valley, where they live, is extensive. [Last update: May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.]
