DCFS Rescinds Layoff Notices

Illinois’ Department of Children and Family Services announced Thursday that hundreds of employees who had received layoff notices will not lose their jobs after all. Also, troubled families who had been cut off from state services will again be able to access them.

A new study shows bugs, even those that feed on crops, might not always be a bad thing for farmers. It is possible some could ultimately do more good than harm to the plants they feed on, by helping them pull through hardships like this year's drought.
