Monday marks a year since a half-mile wide tornado tore through the Champaign County town of Gifford. But a visit today to the community of 1,000 shows many signs of resilience.

Eureka Woman Convicted Of Looting After Tornado

A central Illinois woman has been convicted of felony looting after she collected items from the yard of a retired couple whose Washington home was destroyed by a tornado.

Pope Denounces Euthanasia As “Sin Against God”

Pope Francis delivers his blessing at the end of a special audience held at the Vatican Saturday.

Pope Francis denounced the right to die movement Saturday, saying it's a "false sense of compassion'' to consider euthanasia as an act of dignity when in fact it's a sin against God and creation.

Illinois Beats Georgia Southern 80-71 In Men’s Basketball Opener

Aaron Crosby's 3 pointer late helped secure the win for Illinois.

Georgia Southern gave the Illini men’s basketball team all they could handle Friday night at the State Farm Center in Champaign. The final score was 80-71 in favor of Illinois, but with under three minutes to go, it was a four point game.
