Durbin Addresses State Budget Stalemate, Embassy In Cuba

Addressing the state budget crisis, Durbin says leaders have yet to see the political crisis that comes with a government shutdown.  Illinois' senior U.S. senator was at the U of I Tuesday, calling for more funding for scientific and biomedical research.

UI Trustees Panel To Name Interim Chancellor Wednesday

The U of I Trustees Executive Committee will formally accept Chancellor Phyllis Wise's resignation, and name an interim chancellor to replace her.  The search for a permanent replacement is expected to take six to nine months.

Court Documents Shed New Light On Aaron Schock Case

A federal judge's records show the former Peoria Congressman was issued a subpoena the day before he resigned his seat, and that Schock later filed an emergency motion to quash the document.

U of I Omits, Then Includes, Personal Emails To Fulfill FOIA Requests

Emails regarding university business that were sent on private email accounts are finally being released, after they were omitted from FOIA requests regarding controversial issues from the Steven Salaita case to the new medical school at the Urbana campus.
