UI Main Library Benefits From Business’ Closure

The crowdfunding campaign led by U of I Technology Services employee Dena Strong (and aided by library grant funds) brought in around 1,000 hard to find DVD's and Blu-Ray's with the closure of a popular Campustown business.

Champaign’s ‘Renter’ Closing Its Doors

For employees and regular customers, the closure of That's Rentertainment means the loss of a social outlet, and something that can't be recreated through online streaming of material, or even a Facebook page.  Champaign-Urbana's last locally owned video store closes Sunday.

Phyllis Wise Out With No $400K Bonus

University of Illinois officials did not approve a $400,000 bonus for outgoing Chancellor Phyllis Wise Wednesday afternoon. The vote was unanimous to deny the money after Wise resigned abruptly last week

U of I Trustees Reject Wise’s $400K Bonus; Wilson Assigned As Interim Chancellor

The UI Trustees executive committee rejected a $400,000 bonus for outgoing chancellor Phyllis Wise, along with her resignation.  She'll be reassigned as an advisor to President Timothy Killeen, who tapped Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean Barbara Wilson to replace Wise as interim chancellor.
