Durbin To Seek Probe Of Control-Center Sabotage

After Sabotage, Air Travel System Slowly Recovers

Travelers lined up Friday at O'Hare International Airport.

The nation's air travel system is beginning a slow recovery after an alleged act of employee sabotage at a control center brought Chicago's two international airports to a halt.  At the height of the travel misery Friday, more than 2,000 flights in and out of O'Hare and Midway airports were cancelled.

U of I Recognized As Paralympic Training Site

The University of Illinois’ Urbana campus has become an official training site for wheelchair racing in the Paralympic games.  The US Olympic Committee made the announcement Friday.

Ex-Sen. Ronald Burris An Issue In Chicago Trial

An Illinois Democrat appointed by disgraced former Governor Rod Blagojevich to a U.S. Senate in 2008 has become an issue in the lead-up to a federal trial in Chicago, with defense attorneys claiming Roland Burris was once accused of seeking to extort a business.

Man With Self-Inflicted Wound Found At Chicago-Area FAA Site; Charges Filed

Crews responding to a fire Friday at an air traffic control facility in suburban Chicago discovered a man in the basement with a self-inflicted wound.  All flight traffic at both city airports was delayed by hours.
