Body Identified as Missing Hoopeston Woman

Authorities in Vermilion County have identified a body found Sunday near Hoopeston as 33-year old Amanda Walters-Pentecost, who had been missing for nearly a month.

A new report projects Illinois’ state budget will go from bad to worse if legislators don’t address some key issues. If things stay as they are, Illinois can expect to see more money devoted to rising pension costs and more bills go unpaid, according to a new report by The Civic Federation, a financial watchdog group.

UIUC Alum Wins Best Director at Oscars

Ang Lee has won the Academy Award for best director for his "Life of Pi." Lee graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1980 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.
