‘I Am Urbana’: Evelyn Burnett Underwood Running For Mayor

Evelyn Burnett Underwood has been attending Urbana City Council meetings for years. But now, she’d like to do so as the city’s mayor. Underwood is one of three candidates ---- along with Ald. Diane Marlin and incumbent Laurel Prussing --- seeking the Democratic nomination for mayor in Urbana.

AFSCME Members Vote To Authorize Possible Strike

Members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) — the biggest labor union representing Illinois state workers — have taken a big step toward a possible strike.
 
The state council of AFSMCE reported Thursday that union members voted overwhelmingly in favor of a strike.

We talked about why a proposal in the Statehouse has attracted the attention of the NFL Players Association, and heard from an Illinois lawmaker and the head of the Illinois Manufacturers Association about what they would like to see happen with worker’s comp laws. Illini Men Sweep Wildcats For First Big Ten Winning Streak In Two Years

The Illini men's basketball team beat Northwestern 66-50 last night in Champaign. It's the first back-to-back Big Ten wins for Illinois since the end of the 2015 season.

Malcolm Hill led all scorers with 18 points, and added five rebounds and five assists.
