Champaign’s Fire Chief Douglas Forsman Retiring

 

Douglas Forsman is retiring today as Champaign’s Fire Chief after 17 years of service in Champaign and 50 years total as a firefighter.

Jason Croft, local host of Here and Now, spoke with Forsman yesterday (Wednesday, December 4th) about what have been the biggest changes over the years, the psychology of firefighters, and what his retirement plans are.

A retirement reception and Walk-Out Ceremony for Forsman is happening Thursday at the Fire Department headquarters at 307 S. Randolph St. in Champaign.
