Illinois Eliminated by Michigan State at Big 10 Baseball Tournament

Illinois is out of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament, after losing to Michigan State 11 to 2, Friday at Omaha.

The Illini earned their runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings, but all runs after that came from Michigan State, including five in the 8th inning.

This is the 2nd time Michigan State has beaten Illinois in this year’s Big Ten Tournament --- the Spartans also beat the Illini 2 to 1 in their opening game together on Wednesday. Illinois’ only win in the tournament came on Thursday, when they eliminated Ohio State with a 6 to 5 victory.

Michigan State will play Indiana Saturday at 1 pm, while the winner of Friday night’s Iowa-Michigan game will play Nebraska in the morning game. The Big Ten Tournament’s championship game is set for Sunday afternoon.
