Jackson’s Wife Unsure When Congressman Will Return

U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s wife says her husband is seeing his doctor two to three times a week and his physician will decide when the congressman can return to work.

Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson told reporters Wednesday she doesn't know if Jackson will be back at work before or after the Nov. 6 election. She says her husband knows he has to "follow doctors' orders.''

The 47-year-old Chicago Democrat took a leave of absence about three months ago. It was later revealed he had been hospitalized suffering from severe depression and gastrointestinal problems.

Sandi Jackson also says that while the family's Washington home is no longer on the market, they are still trying to sell it privately. She thanked voters for their support and encouragement.
