Police: No Apparent Foul Play In Danville Prosecutor’s Death

Urbana Police say they don't believe foul play was involved in the death of a former longtime Vermilion County prosecutor whose body was found in a hotel.

Police Sgt. Joel Sanders tells the News-Gazette that the body of 58-year-old Larry Mills was found in a bed Friday at a Sleep Inn by officers summoned after hotel employees reported Mills had not checked out of his room as scheduled.

Sanders says there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Mills was a Danville attorney in private practice, after having served in the Vermilion County's state's attorney's office for 25 years. He was elected in November to the county board as a Democrat.
