Two Brothers Charged In Farmer City Slaying

Two carnival workers are in custody after they were charged with the weekend stabbing and strangulation death of a rural central Illinois man whose body was found in an alley during a Farmer City festival.

Brothers James and Alexander Jacquart are charged with first-degree murder for the death of 21-year-old Blayne J. Benefield of rural Farmer City.

His body was found Saturday morning.

Investigators say the brothers, who are 25 and 22, are from Wisconsin. They're also charged with armed robbery and are being held on $1 million bail at the DeWitt County Jail.

The two are employed by a vendor who worked at the Heritage Days festival, which ended this weekend. It wasn't immediately clear if they had an attorney.
