“Bae” Tops Annual List of Banished Words

 

Lake Superior State University has released its 40th annual list of banished words.

The full title of the list is "words or phrases banished from the Queen's English for misuse, overuse and general uselessness".

It began with a chance conversation at a New Year's Eve party involving Bill Rabe, an employee in the public relations department of Lake Superior State University in Michigan. Since then, Rabe has generated decades or priceless publcity for the small college.
