Champaign County residents are in for an eventful weekend. The Bloomington Gold Corvette Show and the Blues, Brews, and BBQ Festival are making their way to Champaign tomorrow.
People from all over the world are expected to attend these events this weekend.
The Bloomington Gold Corvette Show takes place Friday through Sunday at the U of I State Farm Center. The Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival takes place Friday and Saturday in downtown Champaign.
The festival is run by Fluid Events. Matt Paraf, Assistant Director of Festivals said both events will complement one another.
“You know we get people over to our festival. Get em, full, get em’ listening to some music, and maybe they want to go check out the Corvette show as well. So, we think it’s a good thing to have both of them going on at once and have a whole lot going on this weekend,” said Paraf.
Visit Champaign County President, Jayne DeLuce agrees. She said residents can go to the car show during the day and the festival at night.
The Corvette show had 25,000 people attend last year, while the festival had over 60,000. Both events expect bigger numbers this weekend.
