Five Suspects Sought In Champaign Fatal Shooting

 

A 26-year old man is dead after a shooting on the city's north side, the second such incident in a span of 24 hours. 

Champaign Police are looking for five suspects. Officers were called to the 1500 block of Hedge Road on a report of a group of people being chased by others, and multiple shots being fired.

Police say a 26-year old man had been shot multiple timess, and was pronounced dead at Carle Hospital. 

They’re looking for a newer 4-door black passenger car, and silver SUV.  They also released descriptions of five men being sought.

- black male,18, last seen wearing a cut-off jean jacket with no sleeves and jean

- black male, about 30 years old, 5'11", and 145 pounds

- black male,18 years old 5' 10" and 160 pounds

- black male, 37, 5' 6" and 305 pounds.

It’s the second shooting incident in the past 24 hours – on Monday evening, an exchange of gunfire in the 2100 block of West White street between two cars resulted in a driver being shot in the leg.
