ISU Prepares For Large Freshman Class

Illinois State University is expecting a large incoming freshman class this year - the biggest in a couple of decades, according to one campus official.

Move-in day at the Normal school is next week.

The Bloomington Pantagraph reports the school's freshman class should be between 3,500 and 3,600 students this fall.

Troy Johnson is ISU's vice president of enrollment management. He says that's up from just less than 3,000 last year. Official numbers won't be available until the tenth day of classes.

Johnson says ISU's "freshman class is going to be the largest in over 20 years.'' He says total enrollment will be between 20,000 and 21,000 students.

ISU housing officials say they have room for all the students.
