Time Running Out To Sign Up For Health Insurance

Time is running out to sign up for health insurance on the Affordable Care Act open exchange.

People have until this Friday, to sign up for ACA insurance. The Trump administration cut the open enrollment time in half this year.

Adani Sanchez works at Champaign County Healthcare Consumers, and helps people sign up for ACA insurance. She says her group has helped many people find the right health insurance plan, and it’s been a smooth open enrollment. "The marketplace has been very easy to work with. The website has been easy to work with. If ever there have been problems we’ve been able to call. I haven’t had any long wait times at all," she said.

Sanchez says people who need ACA insurance need to go online to healthcare.gov to shop for a plan. She also reminds people that — despite efforts in Washington to repeal it — the Affordable Care Act is still the law of the land.
